The stars are rising...

The nominations keep coming in – and our new category this year for Outside Caterer has seen plenty.

Mrs B's Kitchen Newbury, Bench Rest in Reading’s Tasting House and Fosters Catering have all been nominated.

Said one Fosters nominator: “Having spent 25 years in the catering industry and winning pub/restaurant chef of the year 2015 for the Craft Guild of Chefs it was always going to be tough to deliver to my expectations for my wedding day. But  Darren met all requirements with ease and calm.”

Meanwhile The Botanist in Marlow which won silver in Bar of the Year last year has been nominated again in that category and also for Restaurant of the Year.

Big favourite last year the Miller of Mansfield has been nominated again for Independent Hotel of the Year and also nominated one of their staff for Apprentice of the Year.

The penta hotel in Reading has had a raft of nominations, as have Thames Lido – one of the lido’s nominators said: “The food is very unusual and presentation is immaculate. Makes for an excellent fine dining experience without the stuffiness of some fine dining establishments! “

Wokefield Estate have some nominations, including for Front-of-House star.

And we're off!

The nominations for 2019 have been flooding in. And there are some great potential winners already.

The Great House in Sonning - last year's winner of Independent Hotel of the Year - has been nominated for this category again as well as Wedding Venue of the Year.

Several individuals from the riverside hotel have been put up for other awards, including their events manager and their car park manager.

Zest in Lime Square in Reading has been nominated for Restaurant of the Year - last year this was won by the Miller of Mansfield in Goring. Zest have won several foodie awards over the years.

Outside Caterer of the Year has had a few entries, including one that specialises in South African cuisine, and Best Breakfast has had entries, also including last year's winner The Farm Cafe in Wokingham.

The Bar of the Year was hotly contested last year and winner The Newbury, in Newbury, has already entered again.
